Sink vs source: PNP/NPN sensor wiring

Sink/source is the most-confused topic in training. It comes down to which way the current flows.

PNP sensor (source)

A PNP sensor drives +24V on its output when it detects. Then the PLC input common is wired to 0V. Current: sensor → input → common → 0V.
